Gary Huggins

Famous Seamus are thrilled to announce the signing of Brighton based poet, writer of short fiction and experimental musician, Gary Huggins.

His poetry is often but not exclusively based around addiction, activism, alienation, mental health, and jazz music, effortlessly blending dark humour with heartbreaking honesty, alongside both grotesque and alluring imagery.

After spending his teenage years and early twenties as a guitarist/singer/drummer in a couple of Medway punk bands, he moved away from Kent to volunteer in southern India for three months.

Upon returning to England he moved to Brighton, where he jointly founded 'The Moonlight Gathering'; a small promotions collective focusing on poetry and live music whilst also working alongside several
activist and community groups. Gary fast became an active member of the Brighton poetry and arts scene, both performing and hosting and co-hosting events.
